Date Occurred: 11/01/2013 Reported Damages: $7,400.00 Username: msgandrewsdan49 Email: msgandrewsdan49@yahoo.com Location: Gark Nigeria Scammer contacted me on match.com just after 5 days of being listed on the sight. Over the course of our first long chat, he asked me to send money for a internet phone ($620.00 US). Then got very combative when he had thought I had lied about being able to handle the funds. Over the course of a few weeks, he had managed to convince me with "a legal matter" which involved getting an Egyptian woman pregnant and convincing her to illegally get an abortion. The fees were all medically and legally tied and he couldn't go through legal channels because his 20 year military career would be over. I contacted an attorney from the JAG corps. and he in so many words verified the he was Indeed, a scammer. Something I didn't want to believe. When i started to reread our chart and e-mails, the English didn't add up. So... I copied EVERY e-mail, Chat, background check or news related bit of info for the FCC, FBI, Match.com and anywhere else I could have given the information to. He is still of of today attempting to contact me to 'just get through this situation together and bring him home to start a new life with me. The most disturbing part is that his story was so believable while I was in the middle of it. Cheating wife who past away 4 years ago, motherless son, aging father. His very impressive military career...When I started directing the conversation to gather more evidence, did I feel like I was striking a blow for justice. I've done everything I could to contact the real man who held the Military e-mail address, but I'm afraid that I just look like a lunatic to him.
